Entertainment & Sports Law

Entertainment and sports law is a mix of the more traditional aspects of law with a focus on providing legal services to these industries. It is an area of the law that intersects with a number of legal disciplines such as intellectual property, first amendment, contract, labor, and tort law, and the principal areas of entertainment and sports law overlap substantially with the well-known and conventional field of intellectual property law. The majority of the work of an entertainment and sports law practice is transactionally based such as drafting contracts, negotiation and mediation. However, some situations may lead to litigation or arbitration.

After several years of experience at a major entertainment company, Patricia Lawrence-Kolaras, President of The PLK Law Group, brings first-hand knowledge and experience to the firm in dealing with the many facets of the entertainment and music industry.  As such, The PLK Law Group has the advantage of unique, in-house entertainment experience.

At The PLK Law Group, not only can we offer superior legal services in the entertainment field, we also work with sports clients in representing professional athletes interests with respect to agency, marketing, and merchandising agreements.
